Job Summary

The NetApp Public Cloud Services business unit is at the forefront of guiding customers to the public cloud, striving to deliver the transformational benefits of cloud technology to both existing and new customers. We are expanding our team and are currently seeking a customer-obsessed skilled Senior Product Manager for work across all three major public cloud first party offerings. 

About the Role 

In this pivotal role, you will be an integral part of building the next generation of end-to-end customer experience, across NetApp’s 1P cloud storage services. Your focus will be understanding market opportunities, customer pain points, designing next generation product experience, prioritizing critical use cases, and leading the definition and delivery of key features into one of the fastest-growing sectors in the industry. 

A successful candidate is an effective communicator, has demonstrated the ability to earn the trust of stakeholders, is data-driven, and has experience managing complex business challenges. They focus on customers, handle requirements from various business teams, and thrive in ambiguous situations. The ideal candidate has demonstrated a strong ability to build repeatable and scalable processes and is an independent operator skilled at aligning resources and working cross-team to deliver on behalf of our customers. 

They have a strong bias toward data-driven decision-making and an innate ability to understand how metrics relate to business problems and to each other. This person is willing to experiment, learn, and iterate to improve. They understand and account for the implications of their work on front-line operations. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Own, define, and drive the customer-working- backwards strategy, tenets, long-term goals, and artifacts, including customer and stakeholder feedback, impact analysis, and business metrics to inform direction. 
  • Analyze emerging industry trends that can contribute to the long-term product strategy. 
  • Define product vision, including future roadmap, investment, innovation, and experimentation.
  • Work with technology teams to align development with the product roadmap..
  • Develop and execute the product roadmap, including identifying customer pain points and new opportunities.
  • Define, prioritize, and communicate product requirements to cross-functional teams. 
  • Collaborate with user experience teams, data engineering, and solution architects to create intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for complex workflows.
  • Own and manage the Go-To Market (GTM) plan to achieve results that align with customer needs and business objectives in operational launch plans. Assess and make trade-offs based on customer requirements and QA/testing of the product. 
  • Use voice-of-the customer mechanisms to glean customer needs that can be uniquely met
  • Oversee the project execution, update stakeholders on project progress, and ensure quality standards to uphold the integrity of the project. 
  • Lead interaction with cross-functional teams, including working closely with engineering, program management, operations, finance, and executive leadership.
  • Ensure key information cascades consistently and smoothly across stakeholder organizations.
  • Create clear, engineering-ready documents and specifications.
  • Evangelize products and solutions to customers and industry audiences, from small to large forums.
  • Translate UX research insights into actionable strategies and tactics cross functionally 

Job Requirements

  • 8 years in product management, product marketing, professional services, and/or business consulting.
  • Solid understanding of public cloud services.
  • Hands-on understanding of data storage, core data protection, and disaster recovery capabilities required for enterprise deployments.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex tasks in a dynamic work environment.
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization and with external partners in broad technology areas.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to negotiate and collaborate across groups to achieve customer success.
  • Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools.

Education & Experience

  • Typically requires 12 years of relevant experience.
  • A Bachelor of Science or master’s in computer science or computer applications, a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.

Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is 174,760 - 260,040 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies. Benefits may vary by country and region, and further details will be provided as part of the recruitment process.
